Pump Jack

Not just your everyday sight where I come from. When we were driving through Texas, I really wanted to take a picture of one. Unfortunatly, I didn't and thought I had lost my chance. Somewhere in the mid-west, there were more, so I pulled off the highway and got this shot.

An Oil Rig. (12KB, JPEG)

H. Weisberg sent the following: The photograph you show under this heading is not an oil rig, but a pump jack (the device used to pump the oil to surface). An oil rig is a device used to drill the hole in the first place, very different from a pump jack!!

So there you have it. I always thought it was an oil rig, but apparently not.
