A small neighborhood park with a playground, lots of benches and picnic tables under the trees.

This park serves two purposes. There is a small play area for neighborhood kids, then there is a shady section with lots of benches and picnic tables, perfect for people who work in the area and want to eat outside. For such a small park, there is a large variety of trees, almost every one is a different species.

The playground area was totally redone in mid 2010 and is now fenced in so the kids can't run off. The playground's surface is made out of rubber so it is very yielding. It was made to look like it is a layer of mulch, but as soon as you step on it you realize it isn't. The climbing equipment is very elaborate with several slides, lots of things to climb and walk on.

The park was named for the first female chairman of the Maryland-National Capital Park and planning Commision, which she led from 1963 to 1971.
