Giant meadow saffron Genus Colchicum, also called autumn crocus (but it isn't a real crocus) or naked ladies. They flower in the fall but the leaves don't appear until the spring. A low-growing short flower with six petals. Each petal is white to the inside then turns purple. The long stamens have bright yellow pollen.
